Sanskar School celebrates International Day of Peace 2020
“When the power of love overcomes the love of power the world will know peace.” —Jimi Hendrix
International Day of Peace is celebrated worldwide every year on 21st September, to recognize the efforts of those who have worked hard to end conflict and promote peace. As part of the event, learners from grades 4 and 5 of Sanskar School, Sirsi Road, commemorated this day with great enthusiasm by dressing up united as one and by sharing the efforts and contributions of their Peacemaker Heroes, who have worked passionately to promote peace and justice in the world.
The students performed an online role play depicting their favourite peacemakers and showcasing their ideologies in their quest for one world in front of other students and teachers based on this year’s theme ‘Shaping Peace Together’. One could see the children putting up a strong front dressed up as Jawaharlal Nehru, Mahatma Gandhi, Mother Teresa, Nelson Mandela, the Dalai Lama, Aung San Suu Kyi, etc. to promote awareness on issues related to peace and non-violence and to spread compassion, kindness and hope in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic.
