PYP Class V holds Exhibition on ‘Sharing the Planet’
Sanskar school organised the PYP exhibition of grade V on March 13, 2018. The theme was sharing the planet and the central idea on which the curious learners researched was “Children worldwide encounter a range of challenges, risks and opportunities.” Under this Central Idea the students selected different issues like specially challenged children, gender disparity, cybercrime, child labour, poverty, health, child trafficking and education. The students started their inquiry with the framing of lines of inquiry and proceeded further by gathering information on the types, causes and effects of these different issues. They also identified the role of individual, government and society in solving these issues. The students used different sources like books, newspaper, magazine, ICT etc to find information on their selected topics. The guest lectures on issues like child rights, child labour, health, cybercrime and the interviews taken by the students enhanced their knowledge on the topics. The teacher and the parents played the role of facilitators in this journey. The young learners showcased their understanding in the form of charts, collages, graphs, posters, pamphlets, models, paintings and power point presentations. Their display showed the integration of different subject like languages, mathematics, science, social science, art, etc. The heart touching performances in the form of dances, street play, song, poem recitation and self defence on the exhibition day was applauded by the Chief guest Dr. Seema Joshi, who is a member of the Rajasthan State Commission for Protection of Child Rights, the Director Ms. Rhea Tharyamal, the Principals and parents. The wonderful performance of the children from Taabar Organisation was a value addition to the program.
